Stefanie Getchell

Stefanie is a Child Welfare Safety and Learning Development Specialist with WCWPDS, where she started in March 2026. Before that, she worked for over 12 years in Child Protective Services at Rock County Human Services in direct practice specifically in Access and Initial Assessment. She later moved into training, where she helped new and current staff build their skills. She became a CPS Training Supervisor, where her role entailed traditional supervisory duties such as supporting through consultation while guiding CPS Professionals’ understanding and implementation of practice according to state and county standards. She also created and led training programs. Stefanie earned her social work degree from UW-Whitewater in 2010. While she focuses on supporting and training, learning from other child welfare professionals is the key part in her own professional development which continues to energize her in this work.
