Transfer of Learning (TOL)

What is Transfer of Learning?

Transfer of learning (TOL) is the process of applying knowledge and skills from training to real-world practice. At WCWPDS, TOL tools and services, like job aids, coaching, practice activities, and follow-up emails, are intentionally tied to our training offerings to extend learning beyond the classroom. These supports help learners translate concepts into daily practice in child protective services, youth justice, and out-of-home care. By embedding TOL into our programs, we strengthen workforce and caregiver development and foster learning cultures within partnering agencies.

This page includes the list of child welfare professional, youth care professional, and caregiver training topics with TOL activities. Click a training title to view suggested activities.
