Join the Mental Health Ambassadors group in a new learning collaborative to explore elements for reimagining self-care.
Expectations
This learning collaborative was created to enhance self-preservation and resilience in helping professionals and caregivers. Self-care is often viewed as frivolous and unnecessary, but the aim of this learning collaborative is to refocus what self-care truly means and provide participants with tangible tools to ensure ethical practice. Participants can expect relevant and innovative resources and support as it relates to self-care in a quick and evidence-based manner.
Target Audience
This series is intended for helping professionals and caregivers that would like to gain information and tangible tools to enhance their self-care practices.

Before Each Session
Each month (October 2025 through March 2026), a short YouTube video around self-care will be introduced. The video will be posted on the Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development System website by the second Wednesday of the month. Participants can watch the video at a time that is convenient for them. A short worksheet with prompts to guide reflection and practice application will be posted with the video.
During the Session
A live, facilitated discussion will be held on the second Tuesday of each month from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon to explore the video and how the ideas relate to your work and wellness. You do not need to register for the discussion; just join the Zoom link.
Afterward
Leave with insights and ideas for strengthening both personal and organizational self-care practices. You will receive one continuing education hour for each session attended.

Facilitator Materials
Facilitator Guides were created with the intent of allowing supervisors, lead workers, and other staff to use these materials in team meetings and other group settings where these topics would be found pertinent to ethical practice. They provide step-by-step instructions on how to guide the discussion with the group on the different topics.
