Supervisor Training Requirements

The DCF 43 Training Rule applies to all child welfare supervisors hired after February 1, 2008. Newly hired child welfare supervisors who are required to complete Worker Foundation training have 12 months from the date of hire to complete both Pre-Service and 15 days of Worker Foundation Training.

If you are exempt because you have already completed Pre-service trainings, it is recommended that new supervisors review each of the modules from the perspective of a supervisor. As workers complete Pre-service modules, they are asked to talk with their supervisors at many points in the pre-service training, so reviewing these modules again will help you prepare to support your staff.
